ON-SITE SAFETY TRAINING

In a workplace environment, most employee injuries and property damage result from a lack of or inadequate safety training. The Occupational Safety & Health Administration (OSHA) sets a number of industry and worker-specific training requirements, however, most companies can benefit from additional, site-specific training. The safer your workplace, the better off your company and your employees. Workplace accidents can result in substantial medical costs and legal fees, not to mention decreased productivity due to worker absences.

EC Brett offers a variety of on-site workplace and OSHA safety training programs for manufacturing and construction companies, which can be tailored to fit your specific needs. Some of our most requested training programs include:

OSHA General Industry Training

OSHA 10- & 30-Hour General Industry Safety Training

Our OSHA 10-Hr General Industry Training is designed for employees working in factories, warehouses, and the manufacturing industry. The OSHA 30-Hr General Industry Course is intended for entry to senior level factory employees, site supervisors, foremen, safety managers, and other management and supervisory leads who wish to maintain a thorough understanding of regulations.

OSHA Construction Safety Training

OSHA 10- & 30-Hour Construction Industry Safety Training

Our OSHA 10-Hr Construction Training is designed for working professionals in construction, building development, repairs/alterations, and other construction related fields. OSHA 30-Hr Construction Training is intended for entry to senior level construction workers, site supervisors, safety managers, and contractor leads who wish to maintain a thorough understanding of regulations.

Respiratory Protection

Respiratory Protection Training

If your company requires respirators to protect the health of your employees, you must provide Respiratory Protection Training on the potential hazards they are exposed to during routine and emergency situations. In addition, training must ensure employees know how to properly use respirators, including putting on and removing them, any limitations on their use, and proper maintenance.

Fall Protection Training

Fall Protection Training for General Industry

In General Industry, any time a worker is at a height of four feet or more, or is working over dangerous equipment or machinery, he or she is at risk and needs to be protected. Fall Protection Training for General Industry shows a variety of methods your business can include to safeguard employees from falling at height, proper use of fall protection equipment, and guidance on how you can ensure a safe workplace for your workers.

Construction Fall Protection

Fall Protection Training for Construction Industry

Our Fall Protection Training for Construction Industry covers OSHA’s standard 29 CFR 1926 Subpart M. This training enables each employee to recognize the hazards of falling and the procedures to be followed in order to minimize these hazards. Topics include correct procedures for fall protection, guardrail, personal fall arrest, safety net, warning line, and safety monitoring systems; controlled access zones and other protection to be used.

HAZCOM Training

Hazard Communication Training / HAZCOM Training

HAZCOM Training is designed to provide construction, general industry, and office personnel with an understanding of the requirements of OSHA’s Hazard Communication Standard. OSHA mandates this training to teach employees how to read Safety Data Sheets and labeling systems, understand various chemical hazards, and how to protect themselves using the proper personal protective equipment.

Control of Hazardous Energy Training / Lockout/Tagout Training

Workers servicing or maintaining machines or equipment may be seriously injured or killed by the unexpected startup or release of stored energy, such as a jammed conveyor system suddenly releases, crushing a worker trying to clear the jam. Conducting regular Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) Training ensures employees know, understand, and are able to follow the applicable provisions of your hazardous energy control procedures.
Confined Space Training

Confined Space Entry Training

Our Confined Space Training is designed to comply with OSHA’s standard for confined spaces and safe entry procedures, Title 29 Code of Federal Regulations Part 1910.146 “Permit-Required Confined Spaces.” Many workplaces contain spaces considered “confined” because their configurations hinder the activities of employees who work in them. A confined space has limited or restricted means for entry or exit, such as vaults, tanks, storage bins, manholes, pits, silos, process vessels, and pipelines.

Forklift Training

Forklift Training

OSHA finds that a full 25% of forklift accidents can be traced back to a lack of proper forklift training. Our OSHA-compliant Forklift Training teaches forklift operators how to properly move with and without a load, as well as pick up and stack a load. Our trainers cover special considerations present in your environment, such as trailers, ramps, and elevators, and includes non-operator safety training for those who work around forklifts.

Hazardous Waste

Chemical Use & Storage Training

Chemical hazards and toxic substances pose a wide range of health and physical hazards (flammability, corrosion, and explosibility) that put employees at risk. Our Chemical Use and Storage Training teaches employees the hazards of the chemicals present in their work area, how to properly handle those chemicals, and what measures to take to protect themselves.

Walking Surface Training

Walking & Working Surfaces Training

Walking and Working Surfaces Training identifies the hazards associated with different surfaces and provides practical information and specific procedures employees need to prevent slips, trips and falls on the job.  Topics covered include the fundamentals of safe surfaces, walkways and floors, stairs and fixed ladders, portable ladders and scaffolding.

Occupational Noise Protection

Occupational Noise Exposure Training

Employers are required to train and annually retrain all employees exposed to noise at or above an 8-hour time weighted average of 85 decibels. Our OSHA-compliant Occupational Noise Exposure Training ensures employees understand the effects of noise on hearing, the importance of hearing protectors, and instructions on selection, fitting, use, and care of personnel protective equipment.

Toolbox Talks

Toolbox Talks / Tailgate Safety Meetings

Our consultants can develop and deliver Toolbox Talks / Tailgate Safety Meetings, which are short, informal safety meetings conducted on a periodic and as-needed basis. Their objective is to inform employees of specific hazards associated with a task and the safe way to do the job and also serves as a reminder to employees of what they already know.

Hazardous Waste

HAZWOPER Training

We offer an 8-hour Hazardous Waste Operations and Emergency Response (HAZWOPER) refresher training course. This course is required by employees who must respond to uncontrolled releases as First Responders at the Operations level, Hazardous Materials Technicians, Hazardous Materials Specialists, On-Scene Incident Commanders, and employees expected to handle or clean up hazardous materials or waste.

Is on-site classroom safety training better than online courses?

It is our experience that in-person training helps ensure all necessary information reaches workers. A classroom setting provides an interactive learning environment that helps employees remember more of what they learn. Trainers can answer site-specific questions, dialog with employees to drive engagement, include examples specific to the business, and dive deeper into topics they think need further explanation.
